Welcome to Champlin Sinclair! A full service station with a small town feel.

There’s a certain charm to this Sinclair on the Mississippi River banks. The folks here have been filling tanks, fixing cars, and dealing out smiles for seventy years. That makes this Sinclair station the oldest surviving business in the city of Champlin.

How have they lasted so long? Maybe it’s because the station was started in the 1930s by the Syring family and is still owned by them today. In fact, the current facility was built by Marty Syring himself in the 1950s. Or maybe it’s because it’s been run by the Merkl brothers, Jim and John, for over thirty years.

We like to think it’s because the Champlin Sinclair is more than just a service station. It’s a Champlin landmark, an example of constancy and reliability in a changing world. It’s friendly and familiar faces from day to day and year to year.

We’d like to welcome you to drop by and pass the time with a cup of coffee and some conversation with our “regulars.” Join the discussion, sometimes controversial and sometimes mundane, and enjoy a donut or two, on us.

Jim Merkl’s wife, Diana, is our office manager at the station. She’s here to greet you with a welcoming smile and to ensure that your time (and your vehicle’s time) with us exceeds your expectations.

Champlin Sinclair provides full automotive services and repairs, including pumping gas and diesel fuels. Stay cool inside your car during blazing summers or warm during our frigid Minnesota winters—we’ll take care of everything. As a personal touch, we also clean your windshield, check your oil if you’d like, and do it all with a smile.

We have four service bays and two tow trucks at your service. Our technicians are ASE certified, two of which are Master Techs with L1 certification. We pride ourselves on getting the job done right—your satisfaction is our goal..
